Whether it’s in offering complimentary computer and IT classes at local libraries, or helping progress the IT industry by serving on Computing Technology Industry Association committees, FireLogic has a company culture rooted in doing right and giving back.
Computing Technology Industry Association
FireLogic is a longtime proud supporter of the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). This industry nonprofit is the foremost organization tasked with progressing the entire IT industry with standardized testing and certification of workers involved in the global technology landscape. All FireLogic technical staff members are required to have baseline CompTIA certifications achieved during employment probation, giving our firm a strong footing to properly and effectively service clients in a world that is technologically progressing at an alarming pace.
For our part, President Derrick Wlodarz personally attends numerous yearly workshops at CompTIA headquarters to help advance and refine standard industry certifications such as the Network+, A+, IT Fundamentals and other established exams. These workshops are jointly attended by leading industry experts from around the world, and FireLogic is proud to be represented at this table.
FireLogic founder Derrick Wlodarz is also a current acting member on CompTIA’s Subject Matter Expert Technical Advisory Committee which assists in the development of objectives for future exams and revisions of existing material based on industry changes. Derrick’s participation is publicly credited on the following page on CompTIA’s website.
Volunteer Computer Classes
FireLogic has become an integral partner with the Park Ridge and Niles-Maine District libraries in offering cutting edge classes on the latest technologies, including but not limited to Windows, Microsoft Office, Google G Suite, IT Security, and other interesting and timely topics. Our courses are offered completely free of charge to the community at large, and are all recorded and freely distributed post-lecture on the YouTube FireLogic Channel.
In addition to complimentary courses, our company is available on the second Saturday of every month in the 3rd floor computer lab of the Park Ridge Public Library for Open IT Help Desk. Our staff is on hand to answer questions of any sort related to technology, computers, security, mobile devices, and software at no charge to patrons. Stop on by and get your questions answered; there is no pre-registration requirement for the monthly event.
Technology e-Waste Recycling Program
Technology waste that isn’t properly recycled is a global epidemic. FireLogic can proudly say that it employs one of the strictest policies regarding IT waste collected. Following all current best practices published by the Illinois EPA, all IT waste that comes through our offices is properly sorted, cleansed for data security, and then
released to approved recycling firms that provide us with full Chain of Custody and recycling reports on how all scrap is handled downstream.
FireLogic has an ongoing commitment to ensure that the environment is not harmed through our continued reliance on increasing IT infrastructure.
